After an inaugural defeat against England and a sluggish success against Italy, the French under-20 rugby team outclassed Wales (36-19) on Thursday at the Six Nations Tournament in Cardiff.

Les Bleuets scored five tries, including a brace from Lyon's back Alexandre Tchaptchet, and pocketed their first enhanced victory since the start of the competition.

The young French had hardly beaten Italy (13-11) last week after a heavy initial defeat against the English (38-22).

With this second success in a row, captain Nolann Le Garrec (11 points off) and his partners now have nine units in the standings and take third place behind Ireland (10 pts), second, and England (15 pts), leading and the only undefeated team.

The English signed a third success with the offensive bonus by dominating the Irish (24-15) in the evening.

In the first match of the day, Italy inflicted a correction on Scotland (43-3), last in the standings with a zero on the clock.

Scotland will be the next opponent of the Bleuets next Thursday.
