Emmanuel Macron's popularity was down three points in June, with 39% of good opinions, while that of Castex stagnated at 42%, according to a BVA poll for RTL and Orange published on Friday.

The Head of State is back to his April level, around the 40% mark he has been talking about since March 2020.

In detail, Mr. Macron progresses among LR sympathizers (45%, +8) but loses on the left, among those close to EELV and LFI.

Less than a year before the presidential election, his low water level remains higher than his predecessors at the same time, François Hollande (16% in July 2016) and Nicolas Sarkozy (37% in June 2011).

The odds of Jean Castex, it does not move, 42% of good opinions.

Former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe remains at the top of the political figures acclaimed by the French: 41% of those questioned want him to have "more influence in French political life".

He is ahead of the ecologist Nicolas Hulot (33%) but also the re-elected president of Hauts-de-France Xavier Bertrand (30%), who garners three points after his electoral success.

In addition, a majority (57%) of French respondents say they are against the return of a pension reform before the end of the five-year term.

58% would, however, be in favor of the eventual introduction of a points system, as initially promised by Emmanuel Macron.

And 66% opposed to raising the starting age from 62 to 64 years.

Survey carried out online on June 30 and July 1 with a representative sample of 1,004 people, using the quota method.

Margin of error of 1.4 to 3.1 points.
