July 02, 2021 Nearly four million people worldwide have lost their lives after contracting the coronavirus. This was announced by Johns Hopkins University that speaks of 3,954,820 deaths confirmed since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 7,800 registered in the last 24 hours.



On the other hand, 182,593,659 people are infected worldwide with an increase of 391,289 compared to the previous day.



The countries reporting the highest number of

total cases

are the United States (33,678,318), India (30,411,634), Brazil (18,622,304), France (5,839,929), Russia (5,472,722), Turkey (5,430 .940), United Kingdom (4,844,944), Argentina (4,491,551), Colombia (4,269,297), Italy (4,260,788). Spain (3,821,305), Germany (3,736,959), Iran (3,218,860) have exceeded 3 million cases.



The countries that reported the highest number of

new infections

in the 24 hours are Brazil (+65.163), India (+46.617), Colombia (+28.315), United Kingdom (+27.646), Russia (+23.128), Argentina (+21.177 ), Indonesia (+24.836), South Africa (+21.584), Iran (+14.303) and the United States (+13.348).



In California Delta variant alarm


California lifted restrictions due to the covid pandemic just two weeks ago, and since then the Delta variant infection has been rapidly spreading among the unvaccinated. The most populous state in the US has an average of about 1,000 new cases of contagion per day, with an increase of about 17% over the past 14 days. In Los Angeles in recent days it was recommended to resume wearing masks indoors. At the moment just under 50% of Californians are fully vaccinated, while 61% have received only one dose. 



India, over 400 thousand dead


In India, 400,000 deaths from coronavirus-related complications have been exceeded since the start of the pandemic. This was announced by the Ministry of Health of New Delhi confirming, in the last 24 hours, 46,617 new cases and 853 deaths. In total, according to the Times of India, 400,312 people have lost their lives after contracting Covid-19. The infected are instead 30,458,251. 



Delta variant in South Korea


South Korea recorded a new record of coronavirus contagion cases in 24 hours: this is 826 cases recorded in a single day, the highest figure in six months, due to new clusters and the circulation of the Delta variant, according to the authorities. 81% of the infections were recorded in Seoul. The government was supposed to relax anti-contagion measures in July but the authorities are considering a change of course for at least another week.
