In its electronic version, which has just been integrated into the French

TousAntiCovid

application

, the European “health pass” is still based on the QR-code technique. These digital validation keys display, during border crossing controls, a red or green indication indicating that the documents presented are valid or not in accordance with your health declarations.

The paper version presents the same level of requirements and the entire system required both the consistency between the Union's IT systems and the health protocols in force in each country. “

To achieve this

European pass,

we have worked, from the start, hand in hand, with the services of the European Commission so that the interoperability of the passes between the different countries works, both with regard to the proof of tests and vaccinations produced by EU countries and the systems for reading these certificates,

explains Antoine Darodes, chief of staff to the Minister of Digital Transition and Electronic Communications, Cédric O.

As in any European country, we will thus be able in France to ensure the validity of the proofs of tests and vaccinations presented by travelers.

 "

Same operation as TousAntiCovid

This European health pass in its electronic version works in the same way as the TousAntiCovid application.

The essential information concerning your health status will be certified by a QR code, with however a small feature for the digital version of the European health pass.

This data will be read from your smartphone and without the need to be connected.

In TousAntiCovid, when you open the application in the notebook section, you will find your European health pass that you will need to activate beforehand. It will open in the form of a QR code with your first and last name. The person in charge of the control will scan this document and his device will display a green or red indication indicating that you are compatible or not with the health expectations of the country in which you are traveling. Initially, the detection and reading of the QR code was done online, i.e. the terminal of the operator who scanned your document had to be connected to the IM Groupe's systems and data servers, the former French National Printing Office. But it turned out to be difficult to fully control the security of the data that passed through the various servers of this company and today QR codes are read "offline", that is to say locally. on your phone without having to log in. And more and more, the tendency will be to generalize these "offline" verification procedures.

The “

EU digital Covid certificate

” is free and not compulsory to cross borders.

Its first objective is to make travel within the EU more fluid by avoiding long periods of quarantine as much as possible.

The teleservice of the Health Insurance in France allows in paper or digital format to download your certificates of certified tests or vaccinations in bilingual version, that is to say in French and in English.

A prerequisite for complying with the European standard which has been adopted in all of its member states and the countries of the Schengen area.
