The press service of the regulator informs about it.

"Roskomnadzor summoned representatives of the American Internet services Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter to draw up administrative protocols for violating the requirements of Russian legislation in the field of personal data in terms of localizing databases of Russian users in Russia," Roskomnadzor said. 

It is noted that one protocol will be drawn up on WhatsApp, the platform faces a fine from 1 to 6 million rubles.

At the same time, protocols for repeated violation of the requirements will be drawn up against Facebook and Twitter, the fine can range from 6 to 18 million rubles. 

Earlier, Roskomnadzor recalled that in April they demanded that a number of foreign companies provide documents confirming that the storage and processing of personal data of Russian users is carried out on the territory of Russia.
