The elected representatives of Nantes Métropole approved on Tuesday the renewal of the occupancy agreement for the Beaujoire-Louis-Fonteneau stadium binding FC Nantes to the community.

The club is therefore entrusted with the management and operation of the enclosure, in particular for professional sporting events, for a period of two years from July 1.

Rent is obviously asked of him in exchange.

Pressed by the regional court of accounts, the metropolis wanted its amount to be revised upwards.

Negotiations with the club resulted in a compromise: a fixed fee of 250,000 euros per year, together with a variable portion based on the turnover achieved during events organized at the stadium (ticketing, hospitality, etc.).

“Based on the turnover for the 2018-2019 season, the variable part would be 200,000 euros.

Which would therefore make a total of 450,000 euros, ”says Ali Rebouh, vice-president of Nantes Métropole in charge of sports.

The training center also renewed

The previous rent, much lower than the rents charged to most Ligue 1 clubs, was 140,000 euros per year.

The new amount is therefore "almost multiplied by three", comments Ali Rebouh.

The agreement also provides for maintaining “popular pricing” for certain operations.

As for the José-Arribas center and the Jonelière playground, the occupation agreement by FC Nantes is also renewed for two years from July 1.

For a fixed fee of 52,880 euros per year.
