Dubai Hospital doctors succeed in removing a rare tumor from the nasopharynx of a citizen child

The doctors of the Ear, Nose and Throat Department at Dubai Hospital were able to perform a successful operation using a surgical cataract for a 10-year-old child, during which a benign, rare, large fibrovascular tumor was removed in a very dangerous place, after the patient was suffering from a stuffy nose and shortness of breath during sleep.

The operation, which was performed by Dr. Iyad Hammadi, a consultant ENT at Dubai Hospital under the supervision of the head of the department, Dr. Hussein Talib, took two hours under general anesthesia. The surgery was a complete success and the patient left the hospital, in good health and without any negative complications.

He said: There was no need for blood transfusion during and after the operation, and the nose was not closed with a piece of gauze after the operation because there was no need for that, and this is due to the complete success of the operation, and to the meticulous preparatory procedures that preceded that.
