The septuagenarian was serving a sentence of twenty-three years in prison for facts dating back to December 21, 2015. That day, he had fired a shot at his ex-companion in the driving school where she worked.
A passerby who came to the aid of the victim had also been targeted.
Sentenced in 2018 to the assizes to 18 years of criminal imprisonment for this double assassination attempt, the man had seen his sentence increased before the Nîmes Court of Appeal, in January 2021.
