TBE has established itself in Örebro County

Until 2008, Örebro County had no cases of TBE at all.

Last year, on the other hand, 16 cases of suspected infection were reported in the county according to the Örebro County Region, and despite the fact that more and more people are being vaccinated against TBE, the number of cases is still increasing.

According to Magnus Johansson, experience from Austria, among others, shows that it is possible to reduce TBE cases through extensive vaccination.

- This indicates that we do not vaccinate enough people or that people are careless with supplementing the vaccination, he says.
