In a short period of time, Germany has achieved a vaccination quota that comes close to that of Great Britain and the United States.

But anyone who follows the deliberations on returning travelers might think that the vaccination campaign has not really started yet.

Even people who have been vaccinated twice who are returning home from the risk countries Portugal or Russia currently have to be in quarantine, and who knows what surprises the holiday season will have in store.

In the corona vocabulary, the monster virus variant area appears again, a mixture of risk and high incidence area.

Most countries will soon belong to this group, as the aggressive Delta variant is spreading at lightning speed.

Just a few weeks ago there was a debate about whether fully vaccinated people should enjoy “privileges”.

Now they see themselves cheated out of a piece of hope that something normal will return to normal for them on vacation.

They can also contract the Delta virus, but not in a way that justifies a national emergency.

The reason for the new precautionary measures are those who have not yet been vaccinated or have not yet been fully vaccinated.

To protect them, the others must continue to back off.

The whole Greek alphabet?

But how long?

Such restrictions become incomprehensible at the latest when herd immunity is in sight, but only out of reach because there are too many people who are not vaccinated.

Then those who are protected would have to restrict themselves further because too many do not want to protect themselves.

This will revive the considerations about compulsory vaccination.

This point has not yet been reached.

The acceptance of quarantine for vaccinated people is likely to be limited.

At some point the question will arise whether the Greek alphabet first has to be spelled out before the corona policy comes to the conclusion that normal travel with the virus is possible.

If the corona policy does not find the jump beforehand and decouples itself from clear considerations of a deadly risk, it threatens the endless loop in the virus variant state. Delta-plus is already waiting.
