Foreign Minister Motegi, who is visiting Matera in southern Italy to attend the G20 = Foreign Ministers' Meetings of 20 major countries, met with Dutch Foreign Minister Kerg for the first time on the early morning of the 29th of Japan time.



At the meeting, Minister Mogi said he was "reassuring" that the Netherlands published its own guidelines on the Indo-Pacific last year and was actively involved in the EU-European Union's commitment to developing the Indo-Pacific strategy. ..

In response, Foreign Minister Kerg responded, "I would like to develop a wide range of relations with Japan, including politics, security, economy, and multilateral cooperation," and the two foreign ministers strengthened cooperation between the two countries in the Indo-Pacific region. The two foreign ministers also shared serious concerns about the situation in Hong Kong and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as well as attempts to unilaterally change the status quo by force in the East China Sea and South China Sea over China, which is strengthening hegemonic behavior.
