As the representative of medal winners, Liu Jinhua shared her story of joining the party at the meeting.

　　Liu Jinhua, 79, has joined the Communist Party of China for 52 years and worked in the Great Hall of the People before retiring, serving the political activities of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, the party and the country.

After retiring, she served as Secretary of the Eleventh Party Branch of the Retired Cadres Bureau of the General Office of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and continued to serve retired veteran comrades.

　　"I was born in the old society. It was the party leading the people to emancipate and liberate me. Only then did I go to school and participate in work." Liu Jinhua recalled that by chance in 1960, she was selected to work in the Great Hall of the People.

Working day and night in the Great Hall of the People, she witnessed the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries working hard for the people and working hard for the people.

　　"Their fearless spirit has been inspiring me and educating me, allowing me to establish a working spirit that is not afraid of hardship and tiredness, a work attitude that does not count time and remuneration, and a firm belief in not forgetting the original intention and always following the party." she says.

　　"I joined the Party in the Great Hall of the People in 1969. Although decades have passed, I still remember the scene when I joined the Party at that time." Recalling the experience of joining the Party that year, Liu Jinhua said that Premier Zhou Enlai visited the Great Hall of the People in the past. There are many times, and they are familiar with the staff. Every time they come to the Great Hall, they must care about the staff’s work, study, and living conditions, but they are most concerned about the issue of joining the party.

　　Liu Jinhua said that joining the Party in the Great Hall of the People was also very difficult and demanding. She had written four applications for joining the Party.

After joining the party, she told Premier Zhou.

"The Premier is pleased to urge me:'You can't join the party only organizationally, but more importantly, you must join the party ideologically. Joining the party ideologically is a long-term process, and ideological reform is also a long-term process." I will keep these words of Premier Zhou in mind for life."

　　Liu Jinhua said that joining the party from an organization is once in a lifetime, but joining the party from thought is a lifetime.
