“There were no decisions on this matter, no decisions were made,” said Peskov, answering the question whether the budget should compensate for the idle time of workers.

He recalled that in Russia the situation in different regions and the dynamics of the incidence is multidirectional.

Peskov explained that therefore it is more efficient to make decisions in each separate region.

“As for small and medium-sized businesses, it is well known that the pandemic has worsened the situation of small and medium-sized businesses, but the state extended a helping hand in time - we will not recall here the support measures that have been implemented,” said Peskov.

The Kremlin added that now small and medium-sized businesses operate almost everywhere in a free mode, "of course, not without problems, since the pandemic leaves its mark, but still there are no lockdowns."

He also said that no decisions on compensation to businesses were made due to non-working days.

In November, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the extension of tax holidays for companies and individual entrepreneurs from industries affected by the coronavirus.

In April, Human Rights Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova commented on business support during the pandemic.
