While the anti-corruption secretary of the Blue House was effectively sacked yesterday (27th) due to the 'young debt fight', suspicions were raised that the land owned by another secretary's wife may violate the Farmland Act.

Kim Han-kyu, the wife of Blue House political affairs secretary, was given a 942 square meter field in Okcheon-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, as a gift from her parents in September 2016.

According to the Farmland Act, non-farmers can only own less than 1,000 square meters of farmland received as a gift, not inheritance, only for 'weekend farm purposes'.

However, as a result of SBS on-site coverage, there was a sign saying 'farm' in the field, but most of the land was overgrown with weeds, and in the meantime, only crops believed to be sesame and peanuts stood out.

In addition, a neighbor said that Secretary Kim recently visited and talked about crops.

A neighboring resident said, "Secretary Kim's side came in early June," and added, "I told Secretary Kim to plant something."

Secretary Kim explained, "The couple were both busy and did not visit often, but the land was used as a weekend farm, and the crops were not grown properly because proper soil was not used during the leveling work."

He continued, "I have continued to grow crops, and the Farmland Act does not stipulate that weekend farms should be farmed to a certain size or larger," he said.

More details on the allegations will be delivered today on SBS 8 News.
