Agents of the National Police have arrested two fugitives wanted by the courts of the Netherlands and France, as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking crimes, in two different operations carried out in the province of Alicante, under two European Detention Orders and Delivery (OEDE).

The detainee wanted by the Dutch justice, based in El Campello (Alicante), faces more than four years in prison, while the fugitive with an arrest warrant issued by the French justice, who perpetrated her crimes in different countries, He is awaiting a two-year prison sentence, the National Police reported in a statement.

The 56-year-old man of Dutch origin was arrested in the middle of the month in El Campello, where he had settled in order to try to evade the Dutch justice that

had claimed him since 2013 to serve a sentence of 1,567 days of prison

, as a member of a criminal group dedicated to the large-scale importation of cocaine destined for the Netherlands.

According to the European Order of Search and Detention for Extradition, issued by the Belgian country, the fugitive was wanted for belonging to a gang that imported

pallets of bananas into the country containing cocaine inside

, and was in charge of manufacturing the hiding place of the substance and its transport.

After receiving the information, the National Police agents focused the whereabouts of the investigated in the town of El Campello (Alicante), thus initiating a
