THE ESSENTIAL
Four candidates are in the running in Ile-de-France for the second round of regional elections: the outgoing president, Valérie Pécresse (Libres !, ex-LR), Jordan Bardella (FN), Julien Bayou who has made an alliance with Audrey Pulvar and Clémentine Autain and Laurent Saint-Martin (LREM).
If Valérie Pécresse came largely in the lead in the first round with 35.9% of the vote, the alliance, on the left, around Julien Bayou could modify the situation.
The abstention, at a record level in the first round, will be a central element of this election.
