Merging of the lists, maintenance, withdrawal, these are the last hours of negotiations six days before the second round of regional elections in France.

The lists must be submitted this Tuesday, June 22 at 6 p.m.

In a ballot marked by abysmal abstention and a bonus to outgoing presidents from both right and left, alliances are mostly made on the left and only one candidate withdraws to block the National Rally.

It is with forceps that the republican front in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is realized, with the back-pedaling of the ecologist Jean-Laurent Félizia.

He finally withdrew from the race under pressure from the headquarters of the socialist and environmental parties.

It is the only unconditional withdrawal aimed at blocking the far right.

I will, because I don't want to see the identity far-right on the boards of our high schools.

I will, because I do not want to see information aids for young people on abortion, contraception, questioned.

Elsewhere, there are few alliances between the candidates, except on the left.

Pink, green and red alliance for example in Île-de-France under the leadership of the ecologist Julien Bayou facing Valérie Pécresse.

The candidates of the presidential camp, a foil

Ecologists and socialists, on the other hand, have not found an agreement in Brittany or New Aquitaine.

It must be said that most of the outgoing regional presidents - on the left (like Carole Delga) or on the right (like Xavier Bertrand or Valérie Pécresse) - are in a very favorable ballot and few have found it useful to forge alliances to win next Sunday .

And especially not with the candidates of the presidential camp.

Nobody - neither on the right, nor on the left - wanted to ally with them, even the Minister of Relations with Parliament Marc Fesneau in Center-Val de Loire.

They who saw themselves as kingmakers act as foils.
