A victory without surprise. Despite a record abstention, Laurent Wauquiez (LR) was reelected Sunday evening to the presidency of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in favor of a triangular, leaving only crumbs to his opponents. If the first partial results are not yet final (some polling stations having closed at 8 p.m.), the strong man of the right crushes the competition. He won nearly 56% of the vote, according to the first estimates at the end of the ballot box in this second round of regional elections. That is almost 13 points more than last Sunday in the first round (43.8%).

Fabienne Grebert (EELV), who had allied with the PS and the Communists for the second round, misses his bet.

The merger of the three lists, however, allows the environmental candidate to exceed the 30% mark since she would collect 33.2% of the vote for the moment.

In third position, the National Rally candidate Andrea Kotarac, who had no pool of votes, would collect 10.9% of the vote, thus achieving for the moment, a lower score in the first round (12.3%).
