Two members of the Indian Air Force were injured when two bombs exploded six minutes apart at the military airport in Jammu, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, around 1:40 a.m. morning this Sunday.
The Indian authorities are however worried about the
unprecedented
modus operandi
of this attack which resorted to the use of drones loaded with explosives.
It would be a first for India, which has been hit by numerous terrorist attacks over the past 30 years.
New Delhi suspects Kashmiri separatist militants or a Pakistani terrorist organization of having orchestrated this attack.
It comes barely two days after the meeting between
Indian Prime Minister
Narendra Modi and a delegation of Kashmiri politicians, which thawed relations between New Delhi and this region disputed by Pakistan.
This meeting was seen as a helping hand by the Modi government, which has been widely criticized in recent years for its policy towards this predominantly Muslim region plagued by separatism.
In August 2019, the Modi government revoked
the special status of constitutional autonomy
enjoyed by Kashmir since independence.
A measure unanimously decried by the opposition and all Kashmiris
