• Citizens City Council also breaks down in Jaén capital

  • Citizens Strategy stops the war with the PP so as not to "make excuses" for an electoral advance in Andalusia

  • Crisis The PP abandons the coalition government with Cs in the Granada City Council and two 'orange' councilors also resign

The waterway that threatens to sink Citizens in Andalusia and that has already broken the party in Granada, first, and only a few days ago in Jaén, and the certain possibility of an electoral advance have set off all the

alarms

in the party's leadership

orange

, which has activated the campaign mode as a strategy to ward off the short and medium-term dangers it faces. And, at the forefront, is the leader of the formation in the community and vice president of the Board, Juan Marín, who is acting de facto as a candidate without there being primaries not even called.

In this sense, the

tour

that Marín has undertaken in the community - which will take him to visit all the provinces in little more than a month - is not only the transfer to Andalusia of the national strategy of Ciudadanos to strengthen the party from the grassroots. Or, rather, it is, but not only, because in addition to trying to stop internal bleeding and regain militancy, in Andalusia the party, and especially Marín, is taking the opportunity to warm up the engines for early regional elections in which they deny but that, at the same time, they cannot rule out.

"We are in the campaign" and it is going to be a "very long campaign," say sources from Ciudadanos who confirm that the same vice president of the Board is already acting as a

candidate

for the Presidency despite the fact that to be officially so, he still has to go through a process of primaries. However, these sources tell us, it is taken for granted that the national leadership, with Inés Arrimadas at the head, has given her their blessing and, in fact, in many of the events that are being programmed within Marín's tour of Andalusia has state and will be accompanied by national leaders of the highest confidence of the president.

That Marín is campaigning for the party and for himself as a future headliner, primaries in between, is something that is clear to both those who are part of his group of faithful and those who are in the sector most critical of the leader regional orange. Both parties agree that the tour undertaken at the beginning of this month of June in Seville -and of which there are pending events in Almería and Jaén- is helping him to

relaunch

his own leadership, at the same time that he tries to reinforce his control of the provincial structures, where changes are taking place starring, sources point out, by people of the confidence of Marín.

Thus, they say from the most critical sector, Marín not only promotes his candidacy but "is making sure to close spaces to other

alternatives

."

But it is not the only thing that the two sensitivities that exist right now in Citizens in Andalusia agree on.

Likewise, it seems beyond any doubt that the vice president of the Board has the

national leadership

of Arrimadas

on his side

, after not so long ago the same national president took care of leaving on the air that he was going to repeat as a candidate for the regional elections .

The first deputy secretary and head of Communication of the party at the national level, Daniel Pérez, supported Marín on Tuesday in Huelva and it was Edmundo Bal, spokesman in Congress and Arrimadas' right hand, who accompanied the vice president on Friday in Malaga.

The beginning

The tour, according to the sources consulted, will not end, far from it, when the eight provinces are reached.

On the contrary, it will be the

starting point

for an activity that will not cease until the elections are called, whenever they are.

Above all because, they reason, the

risk

of electoral advancement - which Ciudadanos does not want even in paint - will be greater the more the internal situation of the party worsens, since the instability of the

orange

formation

will be a factor of instability for the government of coalition with the PP. For this reason, Marín and his people are clear that they have to overturn to stop decomposition.

First Granada, with the breakdown of the PP and the departure of two of the four councilors of Cs, and now Jaén, where only one of the four

orange

councilors

remains faithful to the party and the government agreed with the PSOE, they have shown up to what The extreme point is the weakness of the formation, in a

self-destructive path

that, if no one remedies it, could even lead to the disappearance of the brand.

"We are in closure due to demolition", defines another source of Citizens the internal situation of the party, pointing, precisely, to the abandonment of the

bases

, of the territorial structures, as the great factor that is precipitating the crisis.

"Each one makes war on his own side," he points out.

That means, several of the sources consulted agree, that the

bleeding will

not stop in Jaén. There are other municipal governments at risk and localities, much smaller but highly symbolic, where there is "background noise." Like Motril, in Granada, or Gergal, in Almería, where the PP has already refused to respect the pact to take turns in the Mayor's Office. "The seams are jumping," they add.

One of the key destabilizing factors is being the Popular Party, they say from the

orange

party

. Not the Andalusian Popular Party, with which a non-aggression pact has been signed, but the national leadership. In Ciudadanos they point directly to Genoa and its former Secretary of Organization,

Fran Hervías

, as the inducers of the crises in Granada and Jaén. In the latter case, the sources are strong when it comes to stating that the three councilors who have broken with the local government and the party's discipline "were put by Hervías."

Genoa, they add, is a firm supporter of the Andalusian elections advancing on the scheduled calendar, taking advantage of the

favorable wave

of the 4M in Madrid, in addition to the mobilization of the electorate due to dissatisfaction with the pardons to the

procés

leaders

, against the Andalusian PP and the president, Juanma Moreno, who resist.

For this reason, they maintain from Cs, destabilizing the

oranges

is a way of putting pressure on Moreno himself and the Andalusian PP.
