The ecologists and the left "are back to the regional council" of Hauts-de-France, after six years of absence, "to fight, to last", and "to win tomorrow" the presidency, rejoiced Sunday Karima Delli , came third in the regional elections with between 21.4% and 22% of the vote, according to estimates.

"The ecologists and the left are back to the regional council, after six years of absence, and you will see, it will make the difference!", Launched the candidate of the united left (EELV, PS, LFI, PCF, Generation .s) from its headquarters in Lille, widely applauded by activists.

"The future is a bearer of hope (...) the strength that we are creating this evening (...) will ultimately change Hauts-de-France, (...) we are here now to fight, but to last , because I guarantee you that tomorrow, we will win the head of this regional council ", promised Karima Delli.

"We have been able to raise our heads" and "this new force in Hauts-de-France is only being born", she continued, wishing that "no one would use (the left) as a springboard for anything ".

In the 2015 regional elections, the National Front won in the first round in the region.

The PS candidate Pierre de Saintignon, 3rd, then withdrew, leading to the victory of Xavier Bertrand (ex-LR) against the FN.

The left had then been completely deprived of regional advisers.

From now on, "we will be there, very present, we will show to what extent we know how to build a firm and constructive opposition. (...) We will be the voice of the climate generation", alongside "in particular" the youth who have been so mistreated in recent years ", continued Ms. Delli during her speech.
