In summary, this is the opinion of the CTS, which met today to provide the information requested by the Ministry of Health on stopping the obligation to wear a mask outdoors. However, the CTS does not accompany the opinion with precise timing indications.



Now the government will have to mark the date on the calendar. Favorite days could be June 28, when the last yellow region, Val d'Aosta will also be white, or a week later, July 5. In Italy all in the white zone, therefore, there may no longer be the obligation to wear masks outdoors.



The Scientific Technical Committee finds the agreement after a confrontation that lasted over two hours. According to the CTS experts it would still be advisable to keep the distance if you are not joined, and the

mask

will still be worn in places at risk of gathering outdoors as well as on means of transport, but not when at the table.



The decision was also affected by the

percentage of vaccines administered in Italy

(at the moment already over 53% of the population has at least one dose and about 27% have completed the cycle). Constant numbers of administrations that hopefully will respect the trend also in July, when however there will be a decline in Pfizer arrivals (the mRna vaccine that together with Moderna is inoculated to under 60s, according to the latest provisions): from communications on arrivals in the individual regions, various governors speak of a cut of between 25 and 30% compared to June while Moderna - whose availability has always been low - will reach peaks of -65% in some areas.



In fact, in the last month the arrivals had been higher than expected due to the advances of some loads. But at the same time, on the European front, the EU reassures: "on the basis of these data and the forecasts available within the next month we will be able to reach the vaccination target of 70% of the adult population".



New resources on vaccines could also come from a study, according to which only one dose would be needed for the recovered even after ten months.



There is still an open issue on which no opinion has yet been given, nor a date: the question of the

reopening of discos

it could be tackled in the next few days and, while access only with green pass in this type of premises and only outdoors seems obvious, there remains the node on the use of the mask once entered.
