The "Physical Examination" report of major cities in China is released——

Small cities have the highest scores for the healthy environment

A few days ago, the "Tsinghua City Health Environment Index" was released at the Boao Health Conference.

This is the third urban health assessment report publicly released by the joint scientific research team of the China Institute of New Urbanization Research Institute of Tsinghua University and the Vanke School of Public Health and Health. It is also the country's first urban health environmental assessment report based on multi-source big data.

From the perspectives of vegetation greening, environmental quality, pollution control, etc., the research team used big data and geographic information technology to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the health environment of 80 major cities in China, focusing on the overall health of different regions, different scales, and different types of cities. Status, sort out their shortcomings, weaknesses and pain points, and propose corresponding solutions.

The results show that the overall level of China's urban health environment index is relatively good. The cities ranked in the excellent and good levels are mainly concentrated in the south of the Qinling and Huaihe River, showing a generally better environment in southern cities, and there are cities from inland to coastal areas. The environment is getting better and better.

At the same time, the overall level of the healthy environment of central cities in the eastern region is relatively advanced, while the gap in general prefecture-level cities is not large.

Among the 80 evaluated cities, Sanya ranked first, Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, and Shenzhen ranked 2nd to 5th, and Nanning, Ji’an, Shaoxing, Zunyi, and Beijing ranked 6th to 10th.

Beijing is the only northern city in the top ten.

"We have classified and analyzed the health environment scores from the degree of urban development, and found that the two are in a positive relationship." said Li Dong, senior research specialist at the China Institute of New Urbanization, Tsinghua University. The more developed the city, the higher the investment in environmental health. , The higher the score.

However, from the perspective of population size, small cities have the highest scores for the healthy environment. “You may also have experience in life. The livability and suitability of some small cities are relatively high. This set of indicators proves and quantifies this intuitive feeling. ."

“On the whole, the air quality in the central region is significantly poorer than the eastern and western regions. It needs to take into account local development and environmental governance issues. Southern cities should pay more attention to noise issues, and northern cities should pay more attention to the heat island effect.” Li Dong said. Although the natural conditions in the northwest region are not dominant, the greening rate of streets is very good.

Some northwestern cities, such as Baoji, Karamay and Jinchang, attach great importance to street greening construction, increase investment in maintenance, and have achieved remarkable results.

"It is hoped that all localities will continue to improve the industrial and energy structure, and strengthen the construction of urban green spaces and ventilation corridors." Li Dong said that it is recommended to carry out a variety of health promotion, education, science popularization and training at the grassroots level in the community to build an authoritative and rich urban environment An information resource platform to meet the increasing demands of the people for environmental health issues.
