Smiles, outstretched hands, a hoped-for rapprochement between the two camps… It was all Sunday evening.

This Monday morning, the situation is very different.

In a statement, the former socialist minister Aurélie Filippetti announced that she would not merge her list with the ecologist Eliane Romani in the Grand-Est.

“We cannot hold on to the second round but we were ready to work with Eliane Romani's list. In these circumstances, it is up to the list that came first to make proposals: there were none. Unfortunately, once again, we have come up against a wall, ”accuses the socialist in a press release. It won 8.64% of the vote in the first round of regional elections, against 14.60% for the representative of Europe-Ecology-The Greens (EELV), which will therefore be engaged in a quadrangular next Sunday.

“It's a shame because if a hand had really been extended, we would have

been delighted to grab it.

But we are not here for places.

We had a great campaign and we will remain faithful to what we carried in this

campaign: our ideas and our ideals ”, added Aurélie Filippetti.
