21 June 2021 The Italian NRR is "well aligned" with the Green Deal, with 37% of measures aimed at the climate transition, including energy efficiency projects for buildings (superbonus) and to foster competition in the gas and electricity market. This is the opinion contained in the EU 'report card', according to what has been learned from Ansa. Brussels then notes that 25% of the plan is dedicated to digital, with measures for the digitalization of businesses, tax incentives for the 4.0 transition, broadband and support for research and innovation. The evaluation of the EU Commission of the Italian PNRR sees all A, that is the highest vote, and a B under the heading 'costs', as well as for the other plans approved so far.

For the Commission, our NRP "represents a balanced and complete response to the economic and social situation", and "contributes effectively to addressing the challenges identified by the recommendations". It also "strengthens growth potential, job creation, and economic, social and institutional resilience". Furthermore, the measures "do no harm" to all the environmental objectives of the EU and contribute effectively to both the energy and digital transactions. They will also have a "lasting impact" on Italy which has also managed to ensure "effective monitoring" of the implementation of the plan. The anti-fraud control mechanism is also judged to be effective. Finally, all the measures of the NRP are 'consistent'.

In its evaluation of the NRP, the EU Commission also gives the green light to 13% of pre-financing to Italy. The evaluation will be approved by all commissioners by tomorrow, and delivered by President Ursula Von der Leyen to Prime Minister Mario Draghi tomorrow afternoon in Rome. A visit to Cinecittà is planned for the EU President, as she is interested in a project for the development of the cinema industry within the framework of Next Generation EU.
