Admittedly, the work had been announced several weeks ago.

But for the regulars of the Nantes tram line 1, it's the soup to the grimace this Monday.

The busiest line of the TAN network is in fact cut between Bouffay stations and the western terminus (Jamet and François Mitterrand), for a total of 19 unserved stops.

And it will be so until August 20!

A tram-relay bus still provides a link between Commerce (stop in front of the CHU Hôtel-Dieu) and François-Mitterrand.

Why this interruption?

Mainly to complete the redevelopment of the Commerce tramway platform.

The work, which was initially due to take place the previous summer, aims to replace rails, redo the platforms, lengthen them to accommodate two trainsets at a time, or even install new passenger shelters, in the style of those of Duchesse-Anne stop.

Lines 2 and 3, too

La Semitan and Nantes Métropole will also take advantage of the blackout period to carry out other repairs, in particular the replacement of rails around the Romain-Rolland station.

The regulars of the other tram lines are, for the moment, quiet.

But they will not escape the disruption this summer.

From July 19 to August 8, then from August 23 to 27, lines 2 and 3 will also be cut due to equipment modernization work.
