Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin came out on top in his canton of Tourcoing 2 (North) with 54% of the vote, ahead of the union of the left (28%) that he will face in the second round of the departmental elections.

In a ballot marked by a strong abstention, the pair formed by the Minister of the Interior and the Mayor Doriane Bécue won 54.11% of the votes ahead of that of the union of the left and environmentalists (28.37%) which he will have to face in the second round, not having gathered 25% of those registered.
With 17.5% of the vote, the RN binomial is eliminated.
