According to Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the effectiveness of Soberana 02 in two doses exceeds the 50% level set by the World Health Organization for effective candidate vaccines against coronavirus infection.
In February, Cuba released about 150 thousand doses of the first vaccine against the coronavirus of its own production, Soberana 02.
