SMHI has previously issued a class 1 warning about very high temperatures for several counties in Götaland.

- We warn when we have over 30 degrees three days in a row.

It looks like at this point the temperatures could be at these levels for four days, Linus Karlsson, meteorologist at SMHI, told TT on Friday.

The risk of fires in forests and land is also very high in several places in Götaland and Svealand.

Outside Mönsterås in Småland, a large forest fire is raging which about 30 firefighters and water-bombing helicopters are fighting.

The risk of grass fires is also warned in the Lapland mountains.

At the same time as it is very hot in Götaland and Svealand, it is cooler in the north. There is a sharp temperature limit in southern Norrland where a rain area moves north during the day.
