The three shootings occurred in Skultuna, at Råby and at Hammarby and Sara Ekström believes that the crimes themselves are not connected to the areas.
- The crimes are not linked to a specific area, but rather people, she explains.
Following the incidents, the police have launched a special incident, which means that they can more easily move and free up the resources needed to investigate the crimes.
The city of Västerås has also invested extra resources.
- We have, among other things, field-working social secretaries and leisure centers that are open during the summer to create greater security, says Staffan Jansson (S) who is the chairman of the municipal board.
