She defended the record of the outgoing president and attacked the National Assembly.

INTERVIEW

Two days before the poll, Xavier Bertrand is at the top of the polls to be reelected at the head of the Hauts-de-France region, with a few points ahead of Sébastien Chenu, candidate of the National Rally.

In the north of France, victory will be played between these two candidates.

"We are the only ones, the only list which can prevent the National Front from leading this region, everyone knows well that it will be us or them", said Xavier Bertrand Thursday.

To the question "do you think you are the only list that can prevent the RN?", Natacha Bouchart, mayor Les Républicains de Calais and candidate alongside Xavier Bertrand, answered without hesitation "yes, it's obvious!"

"We proved it as local elected officials. In Calais, the National Front stigmatizes all issues, such as migrants and security. In the municipal elections, the National Front reached 17% and I returned for a third term in first round. This proves that one does not need to be of the extreme right to have pragmatic answers and defend people without falling into the extreme and its drifts ", she pressed Friday evening on Europe 1.

"The economic results are very positive"

Natacha Bouchart, who is also head of the list in Pas-de-Calais, also wanted to defend the record of Xavier Bertrand.

In the Hauts-de-France region, the unemployment rate reaches 10.4%, and even 25.6% among young people.

"The rate has fallen significantly since 2015. We are on the right track to job creation. We have fought not to lose large companies, to save jobs and create new ones. This economic record, in terms of jobs, is very positive, ”she pleaded.

Jérôme Fourquet's forecast

In Hauts-de-France, nearly one in five people live below the poverty line, making this territory the second poorest metropolitan region, after Corsica. "We will continue to work on solidarity, even if it is not the region's primary competence. We are supporting those who need it, workers who have low incomes. We are going to suggest taking in charge of part of the mutual health insurance for our young people and retirees who have social minimums that do not allow them to access CMU. When you have the minimum old age of 850 euros, support a mutual health insurance at 100 or 150 euros, c 'is unbearable, "continued the mayor of Calais.

The first and second rounds of the departmental and regional elections will take place on June 20 and 27. A record abstention rate of around 60% is expected.
