Two bodies were found Thursday in Montoire-sur-le-Loir (Loir-et-Cher) in the rubble of a house, which had been blown up by an explosion Wednesday evening, announced the firefighters of the department.

Seven other victims, including two in absolute urgency, had been transported to hospital on Wednesday evening.

The explosion, "probably linked to the gas" according to the firefighters, completely blew the pavilion, making it difficult to find possible victims.

"We had to put the area in safety", thanks to construction equipment, because part of the pavilion "threatened to collapse", said a spokesperson for the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Loir-et -Expensive.

At the height of the intervention, 70 firefighters were mobilized to the site of the explosion.
