“Putin made it clear that he would take measures to ensure that our diplomatic mission was properly staffed,” RIA Novosti quoted Sullivan as saying.

Biden also called on the Russian president for a "practical and flexible" approach to the work of the American embassy in Moscow, he said.

“The next step will be that our teams will meet to work out the details,” added Sullivan, noting that the discussion will be about the issues of completing the diplomatic missions of the United States in Moscow and the Russian regions.

Earlier, Putin spoke about the results of the meeting with Biden.

The meeting between the leaders of Russia and the United States took place in Geneva on June 16.
