- As one of two universities, you want to take the lead, when otherwise they usually want to wait and see what other universities do, says Per Bjellert, chief safety representative for the employees who work at LNU in Kalmar.

On Thursday afternoon, Per Bjellert and his counterpart in Växjö will have a meeting with the university management and there the question will come up.

One of the arguments they will put forward is that they think that Linnaeus University should at least wait until the restriction that everyone who can work from home is removed on 15/9.

"Will mark hard"

- This afternoon we will mark hard.

Things have happened since the decision to keep the teaching in place was made, says Per Bjellert and refers to the new mutation that has occurred on the university campus in Växjö, among other places.

But if the vast majority of the teachers will not already be vaccinated at the start of the term, what does it matter then?

- Many will be fully vaccinated, that's right.

But some are young and will certainly not have had time to get two syringes and have had time to wait for the two weeks that are said to be needed for the syringe to provide protection, says Per Bjellert to SVT Nyheter Småland.

Has been heard for criticism

According to him, the safety representatives have heard too much of the criticism they have directed at how the university has handled the risks surrounding covid 19, but believes that in several cases it has taken too long.
