Putin and Biden adopt a joint declaration to prevent nuclear war

After concluding talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden in Geneva on Wednesday, the Russian Interfax news agency quoted the Kremlin as saying that the two leaders had adopted a joint declaration on strategic nuclear stability aimed at preventing a nuclear war.

Biden described the discussions he had with Vladimir Putin as "positive", but warned his Russian counterpart that Washington would not tolerate any interference in the US elections.

"The tone of the entire meeting was good and positive," Biden said in a press conference after the bilateral summit in Geneva, adding, "I made it clear that we will not tolerate attempts to violate our democratic sovereignty or destabilize our democratic elections, and we will respond" if that happens.
