According to the Employment Promotion and Vocational Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities Act, the public sector, which is obligated to employ more than 3.4% of the quota as persons with disabilities, did not comply with the law.



According to SBS's full survey of 'employment status of the disabled in the public sector' for the past three years, which SBS secured through the Office of People's Power Rep. Kim Ye-ji, last year, 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education asked for the most money with 40 billion won.



Among government ministries, the Ministry of Education and affiliated institutions had the largest share with 9.47 billion won, followed by the Ministry of National Defense and affiliated institutions with 5.29 billion won.



It was found that the Ministry of Employment and Labor, which manages the compulsory employment system for the disabled, and its affiliated organizations, were also charged 380 million won.



Among public institutions subject to mandatory employment of the disabled with more than 50 full-time workers, as of December last year, Arts Management Support Center, Korea Artist Welfare Foundation, Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, Korea Gambling Management Center, Korea Literature Translation Institute, Korea Atomic Energy Safety Foundation, Korea Eight organizations, including the Overseas Infrastructure City Development Support Corporation and the APEC Climate Center, were found to have not hired a single person with disabilities.
