China News Service, Xi’an, June 17 (Reporter Zhang Yichen) "The main function of the relay terminal on the Shenzhou XII spacecraft is to receive the ground uplink voice and remote control data, and then send telemetry and video data to the ground, and use it Space-based measurement and control technology has greatly increased the coverage of measurement and control." said Yan Qi, the chief designer of the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft relay terminal, Xi'an Branch of the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (hereinafter referred to as: Xi'an Branch).

At 9:22 on June 17, Beijing time, the Long March 2 F Yao 12 carrier rocket (hereinafter referred to as the Long March 2 F rocket) ignited and took off, holding the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft into space.

The three "weapons" developed by the Xi'an Branch for the Shenzhou XII spacecraft-relay terminals, antenna network and instrument controller application software will escort the entire space journey of the Shenzhou XII spacecraft.

"On the Shenzhou XII spacecraft, the relay terminal is mainly responsible for the communication between the manned spacecraft, astronauts and the ground, telemetry and remote control information transmission, ensuring the communication between the spacecraft and the ground; the instrument control software is mainly responsible for display , To provide astronauts with intuitive parameters inside and outside the cabin; the antenna network mainly provides microwave signal switching and filtering functions.” said Yu Xiaochuan, technical director of the manned spaceflight project of the Xi’an Branch.

It is understood that when the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft enters the predetermined orbit, the relay satellite completes the capture of the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft by receiving the data transmitted by the relay terminal of the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft, and finally realizes the "space handshake".

As a result, a communication link from the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft to the Tianlian relay satellite to the ground is established, ensuring the smooth communication between the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft and the ground.

According to the Xi’an Branch, there are three "small-body" antenna networks on the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft, which act as the antenna signal hub for the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft.

If the antenna signal path system of the Shenzhou XII spacecraft is compared to a railway transportation system, then the signal along the road is a train, and the antenna network is the switch between the train track and the railway station.

The signal reception and transmission of more than 10 antennas on the Shenzhou XII spacecraft are provided through the antenna network to provide signal paths for it.

"From launch to docking to operation, the products we are responsible for development have played a key role in all stages. As a participant and witness of major national projects, I am very proud." Yu Xiaochuan said frankly.
