“Citizens of Russia who have reached the age of 21 have the right to purchase civilian firearms of limited destruction, hunting weapons, smooth-bore long-barreled self-defense weapons,” says one of the amendments to the federal law “On weapons”.

It is clarified that this rule will not apply to those who have passed and are doing military service.

At the same time, the right to purchase hunting weapons from the age of 18 remains for indigenous peoples.

Earlier, the State Duma proposed expanding the list of grounds for refusing a weapon license.
