Macabre discovery early this Wednesday morning in Rezé.
At around 7:30 am, the firefighters were called in to recover a body floating on the surface of the Loire, downstream from the railway bridge.
He had been spotted by a local resident near the Haute-île district.
The rescued lifeless body is that of a man.
Brought back to the bank, he was entrusted to the police, reports the departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis).
The identity of the victim is currently unknown.
An investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
