China News Service, Beijing, June 16 (Reporter Liu Dawei) The Japanese Senate recently passed a resolution concerning Taiwan to support Taiwan's participation in the World Health Assembly.

In response, Ma Xiaoguang, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said at a regular press conference held in Beijing on the 16th that the mainland has repeatedly stated its position on the World Health Organization's Taiwan-related issues, that is, it must be handled in accordance with the one-China principle.

The DPP authorities deny the "92 Consensus", refuse to accept the one-China principle, and reject themselves from the World Health Assembly. They are completely responsible for themselves.

Ma Xiaoguang said that Taiwan is part of China.

Japanese militarism illegally occupied Taiwan for 50 years and launched a war of aggression against China, which brought serious disasters to the Chinese people, including Taiwan compatriots.

What the Japanese side should do the most is to treat and reflect on the disgraceful history of aggression, earnestly abide by the one-China principle and the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, and stop arguing and making irresponsible remarks on the Taiwan issue.

A reporter asked that Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga mistakenly referred to Taiwan as a "country" during a debate at the head of the Congress.

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato Katsunobu later clarified that Japan’s position on Taiwan is still a "regional", Japan’s basic position on the Taiwan issue has not changed, and its relationship with Taiwan is still a "non-governmental affairs relationship."

Does the spokesperson have any comments on this?

Ma Xiaoguang responded that Taiwan is a part of China, and we firmly oppose some Japanese officials' misrepresentation of China's Taiwan region.

Urges the Japanese side to abide by the one-China principle and the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan with practical actions, be cautious in its words and deeds on the Taiwan issue, and refrain from sending wrong signals to "Taiwan independence" forces.

Another reporter asked that the US Trade Representative’s Office recently issued a press release stating that the US and Taiwan will resume negotiations on the “Taiwan-US Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA)”.

Some media said that Taiwan would propose to sign a "Taiwan-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA)" with the United States.

Ma Xiaoguang said that we are firmly opposed to the negotiation and signing of any agreement with the Taiwan region that has sovereignty implications.

The DPP authorities "relied on the United States to seek independence" and did not hesitate to import "Laizhu", frequently betraying the interests of the people on the island.

It is conceivable that the DPP authorities’ self-interest for one party will only continue to harm the interests and well-being of the broad masses of Taiwan compatriots.

In addition, Ma Xiaoguang also stated that during the epidemic, the DPP authorities did not stop linking with external forces to provoke the mainland, challenge cross-strait relations, and undermine peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

It is absolutely necessary to curb "Taiwan independence". This is consistent with the mainland's sincere willingness to help Taiwan compatriots overcome the epidemic. They are all for the purpose of safeguarding the common interests of compatriots on both sides of the strait.
