It was after consultation with infection control doctor Bengt Wittesjö that the preschool management made the decision to close the preschool, which will be kept closed until at least a week has passed since the last case was established.

Several children at the preschool must also have symptoms and have been tested, after approval from the parents, according to the newspaper.

Several cases in Sölvesborg

Region Blekinge has previously stated that a number of cases of the Indian variant of coronavirus have been discovered in Sölvesborg.

Even then, it must have been about the spread of infection within one of the municipality's preschools.

- In all probability, further spread has occurred and more cases will probably be discovered, said Bengt Wittesjö at the time.

The first cases of the Indian virus variant in Sweden were found in Stockholm on 28 April.
