June 16, 2021 An electric scooter "a symbol of love and respect for the urban environment and an incentive for cleaner and more sustainable mobility". This is the gift received today by Pope Francis in the Vatican from Assosharing, the first trade association in the sharing mobility sector in Italy.

The strictly white scooter was delivered during an informal visit by the association's president, Matteo Tanzilli. "The air of our cities polluted by the exhaust gases of private cars requires a new mobility attentive to the quality of life with the aim of leaving a less polluted planet.

Retracing the teaching of the encyclical Laudato Sì, with which the Holy Father wanted to show the faithful and the whole world the way in matters of sustainability and care for the environment, Assosharing wanted to deliver a small tribute to the Pope, helping to reduce that that the Holy Father defined the ecological debt to our children ", the words of Tanzilli.

" Nature on Earth is a wonderful gift from the Lord and it is our duty and privilege to keep it as our most precious asset. This need is now also felt by the international community as can be seen from the indications of the European Union and the global objectives of the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development of the United Nations ", he concluded.
