French actress Doria Tillier will be the mistress of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Cannes Film Festival, which will take place from July 6 to 17 on the Croisette, the broadcaster Canal + announced on Tuesday.

"Canal +, alongside the Cannes Film Festival, is pleased to announce that Doria Tillier will be the mistress of the opening and closing ceremonies of this 74th edition, produced by Canal + and which will be broadcast in clear, live and exclusively on July 6 and 17, 2021, "the channel said in a statement.

Nominated in 2020 for the César for best actress for "La Belle Epoque" directed by her ex-companion Nicolas Bedos, Doria Tillier made her film debut in 2017 in "Monsieur & Madame Adelman" by the same director.

She had been revealed as a presenter of the weather forecast for Canal +, a role she held for two seasons.

More recently, she played one of Jonathan Cohen's contenders in the series "The Flame".

The Cannes Film Festival has yet to announce the film which will be screened at the "last screening" after the prize list on July 17th.

The composition of the jury, chaired by the American Spike Lee, as well as the poster for this 74th edition have not yet been revealed.
