A woman driver was hit by a truck after a vehicle breakdown and was fatally injured. The 70-year-old was taken to a hospital in Rodgau on Tuesday morning after the accident and died there, the police in Offenbach said. Her small car broke down on a country road near Dudenhofen. It remains to be determined whether she was in or out of the car when the truck crashed. The road was completely closed and an expert was commissioned to reconstruct the accident.

In Frankfurt, a man pushed a wheelchair user out of his vehicle and kicked the 49-year-old who was lying on the ground. After 40 break-ins in huts in allotment gardens, the alleged crook was caught in Darmstadt and is in custody. The 45-year-old, who is known to the police, is suspected of having stolen spirits and bicycles from the gazebos since May 2020, the investigators said on Tuesday. When the apartment was searched, parts of the stolen property were found. The man was brought before a judge on Thursday and is now in a penal institution. A total of eight chickens and one rooster have been killed by unknown perpetrators in Gudensberg-Obervorschütz in northern Hesse (Schwalm-Eder district). Most of the animals had their heads cut off, as the police in Homberg announced. The heads could not be found at the crime scene, the bodies were in the enclosure. The investigators assume that the act happened between Friday and Saturday. There were initially no indications of the perpetrators. Just last week, strangers had killed around two dozen chickens and ducks in a stable in Gudensberg.

A parking maneuver by a 45-year-old truck driver caused a police operation in Burghaun (Fulda district). The driver wanted to take a break at a rest area on Autobahn 7 on Monday evening and park near the exit area, as the police announced on Tuesday morning. He had come too far to the right and drove onto an unpaved shoulder, which threatened to tip over the entire articulated lorry. A towing service had to raise the vehicle with a crane. The driver was not injured. The exit area of the rest area was closed for about an hour.

After two robberies and one theft within four hours in Kassel, the police arrested the alleged perpetrator. In his actions, the 29-year-old stabbed a man in the calf with a knife and threatened a student with death, the police said on Tuesday.
