The "My Blood for My Country" campaign succeeded in collecting 614 blood units, during the first two days of the launch of its new cycle, the day before yesterday, according to the Director of the Department of Laboratories and Genetics at the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Hussein Al-Samt, who explained that the units were collected through three campaigns. External, and donors went to the Dubai Blood Donation Center to participate in the campaign.

Al-Samt told "Emirates Today" that three external campaigns were implemented as part of the My Blood for My Country campaign, which included the office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and the Federal National Council, and the third campaign was at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, noting that the total number of blood units collected during the day. The first of the campaign amounted to 350 units, while on the second day it reached 264 units, bringing the total units to 614 units.

He added that a single blood unit can save the lives of three people, whose health condition requires a blood transfusion, calling on community members, citizens and residents, to participate in the campaign, to provide the largest amount of blood, to save lives.

He added that "My Blood for My Country" is carrying out external campaigns targeting governmental and private institutions, in addition to distributing mobile donation buses in different regions, with the aim of collecting the largest number of blood units and providing an adequate stock of blood of all kinds.

The campaign is implemented in a strategic partnership and fruitful cooperation between Emirates Today, Al-Amin Service, and the Dubai Health Authority.

The "My Blood for My Country" campaign was launched in its first session in 2012 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, and His Highness was the first blood donor at the moment of its launch, which contributed to the success and encouragement of community members to participate in the campaign since its launch. , especially after His Highness emphasized the importance of the initiative by saying: "Blood donation is the best gift that a citizen and resident can give as an expression of patriotism, especially since there are sick and injured people who need every drop of blood."
