An Iraqi bride's 250-meter-long dress ignited social networking sites, and was met with a torrent of harsh criticism for deviating from the norm on these occasions.

And the bride appeared in her long dress on Rawandz Mountain in the city of Erbil in the Kurdistan region of Iraq to take several pictures, as any bride would do on her wedding day, smiling.

After the spread of pictures of the bride in her long dress, she was criticized for exaggerating in wearing a dress of this length, which extended from the top of the mountain to the bottom.

Moj Al-Azzawi commented on the photo, saying that the dress was too exaggerated and he preferred to mix simplicity and attention to some details, while Zno Ahmed's comment carried a kind of humor, saying, "Even if the bride had an accident, God forbid, the groom would think of being associated with another woman."

Diana Youhanna also wrote a comment on the dress, saying, "Rounds is one of the most dangerous mountains in Iraqi Kurdistan. Thank God, the bride was not harmed after this exaggerated display."

After investigation, it turned out that what happened was just a photoshoot for a fashion show for one of the designers in Iraqi Kurdistan, and not for a real wedding, as many thought.

The designer of the dress, Koran Khader, told Al Jazeera Net that sewing the bride's dress in this shape and length came to prove that Kurdistan and Iraq have many professional designers, as in other countries, and they can provide wonderful artworks that compete with international designs.

On the idea of the work and the reason for choosing the length of the dress to be 250 meters, its designer confirms that the goal is to show the picturesque nature in Iraqi Kurdistan, in addition to the fact that the length of the dress was equal to the length of the Rawandz Mountains in Erbil, which is approximately 250 meters high.

The cost of sewing the dress amounted to approximately 4 thousand US dollars, and the demand for it increased after its presentation, and the idea won the support of a wide segment of fans, describing the idea as a new, undisputed work of art.
