Syracuse, accident on a construction site: worker crushed by a balcony

Two workers were involved in the collapse of a balcony of a building in the municipality of Avola, in Syracuse. One of the two workers died while the other was injured. The accident occurred this morning, around 8.30, in a building site in via Caldarella, in Avola (Syracuse). According to an initial reconstruction by the Syracuse fire brigade, for reasons to be ascertained, a balcony collapsed and the victim ended up under the rubble. It was the firefighters themselves who extracted the body of the worker who was now lifeless, while the other was transported to the hospital with the helicopter rescue.
