China News Service, June 15 According to South Korean media reports, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on the 15th that the government has decided to extend the special warning period for global travel issued to South Korean citizens to July 15 and recommends that citizens planning to travel abroad cancel or postpone their travel.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea issued a special warning for tourism for the first time on March 23, 2020, and has since extended the deadline month by month.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea will study whether to continue to extend the warning based on the situation of various countries and domestic epidemics, domestic and foreign vaccination rates, mutual recognition of vaccination certificates, and the establishment of cross-border travel safety zones.

But even before July 15, the South Korean government may partially lift the special warning for tourism based on the domestic and international epidemic situation and vaccination situation.

The South Korean government is expected to allow people who have completed the vaccination as early as July to travel with groups in some countries where the epidemic is stable. The scope of the special warning may be reduced as a result.

The person in charge of the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the current government recommends postponing or canceling outbound travel, but after July, it is possible to lift the special warning issued to some countries depending on the situation.

South Korea issues four levels of blue-yellow-red-black warnings according to the risk level of tourist destinations from low to high. The blue warning is for safety, the yellow warning is for cautious travel, the red warning is for recommended evacuation, and the black warning is for prohibiting travel.

The special warning for tourism is between the second level of yellow and the third level of red.
