China News Service, June 15th. According to a report by Malaysia’s “Poetry Daily”, a Malaysian Chinese man driving with an overdue driver’s license was afraid of being blamed by his brother. When passing a roadblock, instead of stopping for inspection, he slammed on the accelerator and fled the scene. A traffic policeman on duty at the scene.

After the police released the video of the scene, the driver surrendered and was punished.

The accident occurred on June 12, at the 47.8th kilometer of Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP).

The Sepang Police District Director pointed out that seven police officers set up roadblocks on duty at the site of the incident. A black SUV (sports utility vehicle) did not listen to instructions, did not stop for inspection, and suddenly slammed on the accelerator to escape from the scene. Ran into a traffic policeman who wanted to conduct an interrogation.

“Because the driver was driving very fast, the police officers on the scene could not identify the license plate number and the correct time of the incident. Fortunately, this incident did not cause any casualties.”

He pointed out that at 2 pm on the 13th, a police officer posted a one-minute video of the driving record on social media. The video recorded the incident.

He said that the police had invoked section 78(2) of the Land Transport Act of 1987 to investigate the case.

As the video spread, the owner of the SUV appeared to the police station to assist in the investigation and pointed out to the police that the driver who was driving at the time was his brother.

After further investigation, the police found that the reason why the driver fled the scene and refused to check was because his driver's license expired and still drove. He fled the scene for fear of being scolded by his brother. His brother also surrendered to the police station at 8 o'clock that night.

Because the driver’s license was expired on January 9 this year, the person concerned received a Pol.257 ticket for driving with overdue license.

The investigation report of this case will be submitted to the General Prosecutor's Office, waiting for the next instructions.
