"The size of Australian crayfish is about 5 times that of ordinary crayfish, and the meat yield rate is high; this kind of shrimp also has high water quality requirements. We deliberately draw natural mountain spring water from nearby mountains for breeding, so that it can be healthy and environmentally friendly... …" Speaking of Australian crayfish, Cai Zhengyu, chairman of Sichuan Chuantaiyuan Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., was eloquent.

The picture shows on June 9, Cai Zhengyu (first from left) introduced to the members of the Sichuan Taiwan-funded Agricultural Enterprise Committee, the head of Taiwanese businessmen in Taiwan Youth Innovation Park, and the representative of the organizer of the "Taiwan-funded Agricultural Enterprise Committee-Opposite to the Service Base Level of the Taiwan-funded Agricultural Enterprise Committee-Northeast Sichuan" event. The situation of local farming of crayfish.

Cai Zhengyu is from Miaoli, Taiwan. His Australian Crayfish Farming Ecological Park on the mainland is located in Guojielou Village, Liulin Town, Enyang District, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province.

Since 2018, he has invested more than 14 million yuan (RMB, the same below) to build this ecological aquaculture park covering an area of about 225 acres and having 42 lobster breeding ponds. In 2020, the annual output will reach 40,000 jin, which will be sold to Chengdu, Chongqing, and Chongqing. Xi'an and other surrounding cities.

"The goal of the first stage has been achieved, but the scale of mass production has not yet been reached. Our goal for this year is 80,000 jin." Cai Zhengyu said confidently.

Australian crayfish are blue in color, with two big blue lobsters that are "tiger and tigers". Compared with the common red crayfish, the Australian crayfish is larger, and the length is close to the palm length of an adult man.

According to Cai Zhengyu, Australian crayfish is very popular in the local market. “In terms of market promotion, there is basically no difficulty because the market demand is quite large, and the demand is far greater than the supply.”

During the conversation, Cai Zhengyu said frankly that he was "a renunciation halfway through farming", which was very different from the electronics industry he had previously engaged in in Guangdong.

"But I have always had a manor dream in my heart. I want to be a farmer, so it is a good choice to own a piece of farmland and start farming that I like. Returning to nature is also a good choice." As a "bazhong son-in-law", Cai Zhengyu came to his wife in 2013 Hometown.

Bazhong has a good ecological environment and is suitable for the development of agriculture. Cai Zhengyu has planted more than 200 acres of characteristic fruits such as Taiwan peaches, kiwis, crisp persimmons, and cherries.

Later, I learned that Sichuan and Chongqing people love crayfish and that the climate in Bazhong is suitable for Australian crayfish farming. The experienced Cai Zhengyu keenly smelled business opportunities.

But to make the Australian crayfish business bigger and stronger, currently Cai Zhengyu faces at least two problems. One of them is to solve the problem of "crayfish overwintering".

In winter, the local average temperature in Bazhong is close to 0 degrees Celsius, and Australian crayfish are easy to freeze to death in the growing environment below 5 degrees Celsius. If this problem is not solved, the production cannot be increased. "So we must build greenhouses and greenhouses. ." Cai Zhengyu said.

At the same time, because Australian crayfish seedlings rely on purchase from Hainan, Guangdong and other places, it is temporarily difficult to raise seedlings locally in Sichuan, so the cost is high and it is difficult to promote locally.

In order to solve this problem, Cai Zhengyu’s technical team has begun technical research and hires experts from Taiwan to conduct technical exchanges and guidance every year. “When the local seedling problem is solved, the price can be suppressed. In the future, I hope to build this place into a species. The seedling breeding base supplies shrimp farmers in Bazhong and even Sichuan, so that more consumers can enjoy Australian crayfish." Cai Zhengyu said.

Cai Zhengyu, who has gradually realized the fun of "playing with agriculture", also plans to develop sightseeing, leisure and rural tourism based on crayfish farming. "We are planning a 30-acre pond as a water rest, fishing and viewing area, and we will build it in the future. Indoor shrimp fishing ponds and the development of catering have brought the practice of Taiwanese crayfish, hoping to promote rural tourism in this way."

"Taiwanese businessmen have the characteristic of'inviting business through business' in the mainland. A fellow villager in the front will go, and other fellow villagers will follow up." Nowadays, the news of Cai Zhengyu's farming in the mainland is spreading in his circle of Taiwanese businessmen, and it has since taken root. In Bazhong, four to six Taiwanese agricultural enterprise "investigation groups" come to inspect investment every year. "I am very proud of this." Cai Zhengyu laughed heartily.
